Caylei Geddes R.AcCaylei Geddes is a registered Acupuncturist. Caylei graduated with a diploma in acupuncture from Grant MacEwan University in 2010. The three year diploma program included 500 clinical hours under the supervision of experienced acupuncturists and doctors of traditional Chinese medicine. The government registration process involved a five part exam over the course of two days. The program was focused on traditional Chinese medicine but included several components of modern technique and theory. She also studied nutrition and Chinese massage techniques including tui na massage, gua sha, and cupping. Caylei has also taken Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal from Mary Elizabeth Wakefield. The course taught facial needling techniques for fighting wrinkles, fine lines, and drooping facial muscles as well as techniques for people who have suffered strokes or Bell's palsy. She began her education with a degree from the University of Alberta with a major in chemistry. Within months of beginning an internship with a chemical company she realized that a lab was not the place for her. As a kid she loved to take care of friends and family when they were sick but working in a hospital never appealed to her. A family friend suggested she become an acupuncturist and it seemed the perfect fit. She enrolled at Grant MacEwan after seeing an acupuncturist for allergies and getting great results. |
